Post 40 General Legion meetings will be going quarterly instead of monthly on a trial basis.
The 1st meeting for 2026 will be held Tuesday, February 3rd at 6:00pm. We will be serving food and there will be a Guest Speaker.

DISTRICT 1 Meeting Saturday, March 14 at Columbia Post 182 at 12noon. All Legion Members are welcome.

AMERICAN LEGION BIRTHDAY DINNER: Sunday, March 15th at 4:00pm menu: Pork Loin, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy and Green Beans, Roll and Dessert. Dinner is open to all Post 40 Family Members! (Post, Auxiliary and SAL) may need some assistance with setting up the hall beforehand and serving on the Buffet line. If you can come and help, please email Maureen at the email above. I'll be cooking Pork Loin on Saturday so it can be sliced Sunday afternoon (would like a competent slicer to do that),then warmed. If you wish to help Sunday you can come out at about 2:00pm.

Donations for the veteran’s hospital have been put on hold due to limited storage space but are accepting new undergarments, socks and ge toy used winter coats. Items can be dropped at the Post or contact Fred Morrow at (732)-239-3801 or

Auxiliary is also collecting toiletries, etc. for Veterans in the local Nursing Homes. Contact Karen Harrington at (252)-435-4324 for further information.
